Social learning in the classroom

Written By anfaku01 on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 | 7:07 AM

As we enter the age of electronic media, opportunities for education to promote in every aspect of our lives is increasing dramatically. This became a place of classes where students have to bureaucracy to sit and listen to unique source of information. Students take standardized tests to assure the Government that children receive quality standard, as we are machines or devices. Students told to keep quiet, listen and learn. It's time to go in the future, where knowledge is not only achieved through school systems, but through each other.

Peer to peer learning

Students can learn more effectively through their peers. It was a practice that was used before the present structure of the school was established and often time is still preferred by some teachers. Allows students to get into small groups to discuss and Exchange can be beneficial to both students and teachers. Children may come across topics during their discussion that they might not be treated as individuals and teachers have the opportunity to focus on more specific issues. As school system currently allows, there is one teacher for about 30 students. It can be hard to control, and it often is an issue that prevents some students from learning. They may be abandoned or dismissed, but not intentionally, with twenty-nine other minds in one room, a student can be overlooked easily. In the group, all the minds in the classroom will be interactive on various subjects, students will only be left to their own choice (you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink). With students learning from each other they will also learn how to work with contractors. Such incentives could prepare them for simple books and words. Students can obtain not only information but are able to use it everywhere, they are preparing for.

Training in the past restrictions

Schools now have limitations of time and money. Your teacher is not available 24 hours a day, whenever you need to answer the question. Electronic media entered in our system of education and training are made whenever you want and need it. The advantages of the Internet made it possible for people to learn from each other. This socially interactive and educational system to take advantage of it. Because the Internet covers from one part of the world to another, the knowledge that was previously difficult to get in now in the Palm of your hand. Discussion forums and sites allow for people to collect socio-ask questions, answer questions and come up with new ideas. Here not only to teach the teachers, but they too learn. This circle of learning in which everyone benefits.

Given the relatively low expenditure on education by social discussion, he can play a big factor in changing our own existing school systems. It would be extremely useful, that such options allow us access to knowledge. Education shouldn't stop at the end of the day, or when daylight saving time. Learning is our life. Advantages of social learning from our colleagues and the electronic media can be used both within and outside the classroom to help educate our future leaders.
