Comparison of LCD screen protectors

Written By anfaku01 on Monday, June 20, 2011 | 2:23 PM

The massive influx of flat screen televisions in the consumer market in the past few years increased, how fragile these screens really are.

All kinds of companies on the Internet today boast screen protectors, providing a bevy of choices.

This is because the manufacturer warranty does not cover the damage and not make additional safeguards, sold retail. Both understand how susceptible to damage these screens, and they would prefer to sell you expensive replacement television, rather than recover corrupted one.

Accordingly, there are two main types of protectors for LCD, LED or plasma TV: flat plastic and plastic. Look at each:

Flat defenders

Pros:
• Less expensive.
• In the view of many, "fresh" look.
• Heat is easy.

Cons:
• Most attach with Velcro, (which can contain 4 lbs).
• See the cut edges, or bad flame polished.
• Some only 1/8 "thick.
• Flex easily.
• Only held the TV Velcro or other fixture.
• Adhesive on the TV screen.

Bent defenders

Pros:
• Secured and secured with straps.
• 1/4 "pads provide resistance from the TV.
• Curved edge rigid--unit razminat', very little.
• Heat is easy with sites for upper lip.
• Flame polished edges.
• Lips has weight, instead of Velcro.

Cons:
• Belts, is considered to be unsightly for some.
• Bent lip can be larger than the thickness of the television.

Claims and reality

Caveat Emptor (let the buyer beware ") cannot be more important than when it comes to choosing a screen LCD TV.

Fact: the vast majority of these companies operate from their garage and couldn't rush ship order if their life depended on it.

"Claim" to seek and normal reality such claims:

Claim:
• Bent plasma or LCD screen protectors causes Tv to overheat.

Reality:
• Plasma or LCD TV screen protectors can be fitted with 1/4 "thick padding under the lip to allow heat to escape and if math is done correctly, actually allow 50% more heat than flat to avoid defenders. Flat screen protectors only separated from the screen width of Velcro. Thus completely false and misleading claims.

Claim:
• Bent plasma or LCD screen protectors are ugly.

Reality:
• Saw cut and polished edges can be "ugly" for some, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Would you rather your screen protector doesn't fall down, or look good?

Claim:
• Our clip is a better way to spend the plastic on the TV screen.

Reality:
• Talk about ugly! Clip 1/8 "thick acrylic no better.

Claim:
• Our made of Lexan, which is 80 times stronger than glass.

Reality:
• It may be true, but this is overkill. Acrylic, 15 times stronger than glass, which gives you more than enough protection. Lexan is also can be bent easily easily, so it must be flat screen protector with Velcro — which also cannot be treated with flame.

Claim:
• We are the world's largest producer of LCD screen protectors.

Reality:
• Actual demand of many. Focus on quality and thickness--it speaks for itself.

List of consumers when buying a flat TV screen protector:

• Google address. If you find this home address, stay away. If you can't find the address on their website, just go.
• What business United States or foreign business to address United States? You definitely want to ex.
• Try emailing or calling them ... How to receive a quick response?
• How are flat protector?
How thick is the acrylic?
• As a finished edge?

So as you can see, with little good due diligence, you'll find yourself buying a defender that will protect you and your TV!
