Whatchu Talkin' Bout Willis? Cloud and you

Written By anfaku01 on Saturday, July 9, 2011 | 4:39 AM

It was a term that was "floating" there for awhile, but I thought I would take a second to break down the "cloud" and what it means to him. Now and in the future.

My first question, "what is cloud?"-the term "cloud" has emerged from a cloud picture is used in the past for the submission of the telephone network in accordance with Wikipedia. In fact, all the Internet is the cloud. Cloud term refers to a remote network applications or Web tools that any user can access through a Web browser, etc, some very well known cloud on tools that you probably already use are Web-based email such as Yahoo and Google or online photo, such as TwitPic and Flickr. In principle, instead of requiring all of your confidential information stored on the site via the servers and hard drives, you can "store" online in the cloud. This will free up a lot of disk space and much needed resources on your computer and everyone can access it without having to access the site on servers or other storage devices. Comparison, which is often when referring to "cloud computing", that is, covering the city. Everyone has access to information when they are connected to the network, or in this case, the Internet. The main difference between the "cloud computing and more traditional forms of online storage, cloud computing, and data is not stored in one place. In fact they are not even stored in a static location means that the information is available, but not always in the same area of the background.

The next question that I would like to address here was, "why?", I mean, hard drives and computers get faster processors and more every three minutes. Why do we need a cloud? I have a lot of space on my computer for storage of any and all I could need to go about my daily life, whether for work or play. The answer is pretty much as simple as a signature in your Facebook account. We want a cloud from the ease of access to information. We all upload photos, video, and that no services like Twitter, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, etc., with the sole purpose of making information available to the rest of the world without the need to provide them with access to our personal computer. The same applies to the play, when you mean cloud when it comes to business use.

The company, which operates on a very thin budget and not where all have massive storage for important information or even money for software for all employees or resources can use cloud-based computing for storing information, as well as to staff using the search method and use of information with little more than a desktop computer. Today and more growing technologies, we can make the most of the same things from our mobile devices, we can do with our table. Cloud computing allows even on-the-go employees have access to information from a mobile device without the need for preservation of any relevant information on the device.

In addition to ease of access and these other great moments we must remember that cloud computing in the "green" solution. With less equipment needed on sites for the storage of data is less than the footprint of the company. As well as less waste when it comes to modernization and disposal of assets.

Now we definitely see the benefits of cloud computing. Space saving and computing power, the ability to access information on the go and business spending, relying on the cloud. However, my third question is "why?" All that glitters is not gold and if it seems too good to be true, it is possible. So that said ... Why not use the cloud? Or at least some words of caution when it comes to cloud computing. First a word of caution comes in the fact that you never know where this data is stored. With that comes some problems of confidentiality and security. Using a little common sense will probably keep you out of hot water here. Secondly when your information is somewhere in this mysterious cloud which is backed up and making sure that it is available no matter what? Exactly. So there comes with cloud computing at the natural concern about the integrity of data. Obviously, any files or information that may be critical and should be based on site location.

I would love any feedback and as always, thanks for reading.

How to create your own Cloud backup service

Written By anfaku01 on Sunday, July 3, 2011 | 4:16 AM

Whether you are a service provider, software vendor, IT consultant, or a small company wanting to start your own Cloud backup service this process is not always easy. Data backup is not an easy task and run backup services can be very complex. There are many services on the market claim that number one, but how do you pick the right? Before you start this business, you should consider the following aspects; There are many tricks in this business, so you need to know exactly what you are doing and how to choose the right solution for you. First you will need to decide the provider cloud backup solution there are many on the market, each offering various solutions and technologies.

One of the first steps should decide where you want to store your data. This parameter can be divided into three categories:

1-start your own data processing centre: this can be expensive, requires a lot of bandwidth and equipment management, and replication of backups to a number of places. This direction will require large investments of time and money. It is not recommended if you have a strong, experienced team and a lot of finance.

2-Trust warehouse solution provider: this can sometimes be unknown; It usually contains a RAID 5 or RAID 6 disks. It is impossible to be 100% sure how your data will be considered; It is saved on the site in the event of a natural disaster to hit the object? Providers can sometimes use public cloud infrastructures such as Amazon S3, Rackspace or Microsoft Azura is the best solution because it provides far greater security and better treatment of the data.

3-Public cloud location: If the provider allows it, is the best option. You can use the top class of the public, pure cloud infrastructures such as Amazon S3, which would avoid the need to invest in expensive equipment and bandwidth. They will take the hassle and stress of clouds, automatically processing the data is replicated over multiple locations and the control and management of all. Many come backed with SLAS (service level agreement), which will guarantee the safety of 99.9999% uptime and data.

Are not in fact many backup solutions; real cloud solution much more than just send files in the cloud. Real cloud backup should completely be controlled from the cloud and offer ease of mind when it comes to your customers. It should work without interference, so you are not hassled permanently with problems such as speed problems and errors.

What to look for when choosing a solution:

-A complete cloud management is required. You should be able to manage, monitor and handle all straight from the clouds.

Speed is one of the key things to look for in a backup solution. Many well known products of many functions, but very slowly. Read comparisons and guidance, make sure you get a feature rich but quick decisions. Usually this helps search for different performance modes, which are used to accelerate backup and recovery process.

-The software should run silently in the background with no manual configuration and does not affect performance.

-Deployment and installation should be done from the clouds as few steps as soon as possible. Never look at a solution that requires installation and identify tasks on individual computers manually.

-One of the advantages of cloud-mobility. Solution you choose should be integrated with all major mobile devices (iPhone, iPad, Android, etc.)

-Restore is important simply as a backup solution as backup, himself. Make sure that there are a variety of recovery options that include way more than just dragging the file off the cloud on your computer. It should be straight forward, quick and convenient.

Block level of technology is required when creating a backup. A solution that does not support this. Block level means that large files are divided into "blocks", only the changes or the changed portions of the backup. This saves a lot of time and space.

Cloud disaster recovery is something that is rarely found in cloud backup, but it should be a requirement! It will help give you an advantage, because you can get more profits, offering its customers. This will help them fully staying safe at all times. Make sure that the cloud disaster recovery supports both real and global deduplication, otherwise it does not cost anything.

-Deduplication at various levels will also save a lot of time and space. Deduplication reduces the amount of data throughout the entire client list, which is replicated. Backup system should be smart enough to only backup a single instance of the file and use pointers to see who else is using this file.

Security is crucial in determining your solution provider. Make sure that your research and read documents produced by the company regarding their security. The white paper is required, because if it does not exist than this usually means that security is not a priority; You will encounter many problems in the long term.

One of the biggest advantages of cloud is scalability. This should be a requirement that you are able to expand, whenever appropriate, therefore, make sure that the solution provider thought this and provides easy extensibility and scalability.

It's no secret that technology world moves into the cloud. Offering cloud solution can be a very profitable business, but creates one can be difficult, scary and confusing. There are many things to look out for and many players on the market, the key should do your research and choose wisely after spending a lot of time to learn about the different solutions. The bottom line is that the plan for the future and not just think you need at the moment, but try to predict what the problem or problems may arise in the future.

Effort is the architect studied with passion for software design. He spent years working on creating cloud backup solution, to be known as "Game Changing". His ultimate goal is to change the way you do business across the backup, it is hard, along with his staff, to create a real cloud backup for Windows. You can try to cloud the timeline for free

Wider acceptance of cloud called BI and Analytics skills

Written By anfaku01 on Friday, June 24, 2011 | 4:24 PM

Mashable recently wrote an article on how Cloud Computing & Web services on the IT job market.

The original post is that the initial cost of the product launches decline as cloud grows ... Businesses can create more with less. In the long run, this probably means there will be fewer positions change mismatches along with the technology landscape and increase cloud adoption.

Unlike traditional software, Cloud and Web services revolve around content, monetization and data. Most of the installation, configuration and maintenance work carried out by traditional data Center becomes automated. This implies the desired skills will move from the hands of the technical work include managerial talents, knowledge of user experience and more ".

The first three new skills, Mashable define for it professionals to focus on in order to remain competitive in the labour market are:
IntelligenceData Web AnalyticsBusiness Extraction

Web Analytics

Why is Web Analytics? As the Internet continues to be monetized, driving website traffic and search is becoming increasingly important. Advertisers want the best ROI, meaning organizations need people who can analyze the data and trends to find strengths, weaknesses and opportunities.

Business intelligence

As companies gather more and more information, they need someone to analyze and understand business is all about. To obtain a reliable total business activity, one version of the truth and tell this people and stakeholders, business analytics skills are becoming more and more desirable, as more organizations to move towards the cloud.

Data mining

Internet space is huge. People who can be combined, statistics and artificial intelligent methods in place of patterns in large datasets are more valuable. Data mining helps businesses get information advantage over competitors, which makes the major disciplines.

You want to get these skills?

These new skills, normally complements traditional computer science degree. Having said that, it is important to get hands-on experience with real tools.

2010 IBM survey shows 91% 2000 it professionals surveyed believe cloud computing will be the primary delivery model IT by 2015, so now it's time to start training. Not yet versed in cloud computing tools, BI or Web Analytics? Get the opportunity to expand your skillset, an introduction to the tools and giving myself a much needed edge in today's competitive economy.

Cloud computing for business-should I or don't I?

Written By anfaku01 on Saturday, June 18, 2011 | 6:09 AM

What is cloud?

Cloud is just another word for the Internet: it comes from how techies to the external network to network diagrams. Eventually he joined the Marketing Department as it sounds "funkier" than the Internet and has now moved into general language for the Internet.

What happens with your data, documents, software, e-mail, even get your desktop is stored in the cloud. What it allows is for you to access your data anywhere. Thus you no longer need to work with only one computer, you will no longer need all of your staff to the Office every day, you no longer need to work on day-to-day management. Cloud allows you to log in and open your work regardless of location or computer that you want.

According to global survey is, first and foremost the interests of the other is driving people in the cloud.

Do I need it?

Although it depends on your business, most industries will find that they can successfully use it. What is great about Cloud is scalability: you can store your documents, desktop, and just about everything in the cloud-or you can simply Back-up or your emails are stored in the cloud. As your business grows, you can get more services, but scalability means you can have as little or as much as you like, that also makes it very accessible. It can also save money on antivirus software, and support contracts.

Another advantage is security. If you are using the cloud backup your work instantly: This means if your computer crashes, gets lost or stolen, your job is exactly where it is ready to be accessed with your new computer. It provides great peace of mind for you and your employees.

It's complicated?

No, it's really easy. Customize and receive any necessary transition are managed by a cloud. Once this is done, you can then access your data anywhere and know that it is safely stored in the cloud.

Where do I start?

Decide how much of the cloud, you'll need for your business right now. Learn the value and decide if the benefits of weight value (cloud is generally considered to be low cost). Research thoroughly cloud vendors, many of the major brands like Apple, Amazon and Microsoft are offering cloud computing and can be very effective. Make sure that you also obtain quotations from suppliers in your area, it is always an important benefit for vendor cloud number only if you need to actually talk or visit them.

So the cloud computing for your business: If you or didn't you?

Well you decide! I say yes you probably should, and if you're not sure, I predict that one day, you probably will. Cloud computing is an incredible resource for businesses and future technologies.

Cloud computing: getting down to business

Written By anfaku01 on Friday, June 17, 2011 | 8:19 AM

Demystifying cloud

There's nothing new about the concept of cloud computing, in theory, this isn't much different from mainframes, is used by more than 30 years ago. All calculations are centralized, and users gain access to the information they need from the terminal devices. Although, in recent years, technology has advanced to deliver the type of calculation to scale much more efficiently. Currently working paper, surfing the Internet and using software you can get through the clouds just as fast if not faster, than with a computer.

Cloud computing is a great example of Netflix. Old times in the video store to rent DVD's and he played with DVD player quickly disappears. Why invest in players and movies when you can just get what you want when you want it? Now you can stream movies directly to your TV, computer or even a smart phone. You have access to data, you must (in this case 1000 movies) on any device, and you do not have to invest in data-processing equipment (DVD player).

Fragmented solutions

Filtering, all from various cloud offerings on the market today can be a daunting task. There are many suppliers who provide solutions such as electronic mail, on the basis of a single cloud Back-up, file sharing, or even software infrastructure. The problem is that there wasn't really turn key solution that can provide everything you need in the corporate network through a single interface.

Can you save by moving parts of your network, such as e-mail, for example. But what about the rest of your network? You'll still be left to servers to maintain, control, data back-up, etc., the reason why most companies do not yet have full cloud computing is, because there was a simple solution that provides all of the company. The goal is to eliminate as much of the responsibility that comes along with it operations from your balance.

Does anyone have any money to be saved?

Possible. Looking at the real cost of saving clouds can be complex. There are obvious savings when it comes to eliminating unnecessary hardware like servers and even some computers; But if you cannot transfer all or most of your network to the cloud, real cost savings are not valid. What is a big expense in most it budgets? Labour.

The mantra for your company it should be, "less is more". If you can reduce the labor and material costs, you spend on maintaining in a server room, troubleshooting, and system modifications, your it budget only decreased by 50% or more. Imagine applying these additional resources for more effective software ERP, CRM or marketing initiatives.

Go with the cheapest solution might end up more expensive than originally anticipated. If he cannot offer everything your employees need to work in a simple and familiar, what seems like savings can actually degrade performance. After all, technology is supposed to increase efficiency. If you can move all or most of your network to the cloud, cut your costs of labour/material and be given the opportunity to access everything they need in one decision cloud, your staff is significant cost savings.

Potential savings
Servers: buying, maintenance, updating every few yeasDesktops: replaced by less expensive, more durable thin TerminalsLicensing: Microsoft Office, Server licensingEnergy: reduce power and cooling consumptionLabor: reduce maintenance, troubleshooting, helpdesk, etc.

Scalability-why is this important?

One of the biggest advantages of cloud computing is its ability to adapt to your business. During periods of growth companies invested heavily in the growth of their it Department. This means that buying more equipment and giving greater labour support all. During down turns, most businesses stuck with the depreciation of equipment they have invested in and must support him to continue doing business. You can't really sell parts of your network, when times are slow.

With cloud you can quickly scale with no additional capital outlay. Let's say tomorrow you will get a huge contract and need to hire more workers, no problem, just add them to your cloud. If your business is slowing down, and you have fewer staff, just remove them from your cloud and down IT going to cost. You pay for what you consume, not what you think, would be needed in the future.

Enlarging opportunities for staff

Of course, saving money sounds good, but to grow your business you need to make money. For maximum effectiveness in today's market it is important to make technology your employees when they need it. More initiatives to work remotely on multiple devices, cloud computing makes more sense than ever. Larger corporations have already started the BYOC (bring your own computer), where employees can use what ever device they want to work. Latptops, Macs, and even pills as IPads are becoming more popular in the workplace. Since all processing, data, software and e-mail all come from clouds, the target device (PC, Mac, tablets, phones) simply displays an image and interface to work on. Even the old desktop with minimum resources will work just fine.

So-so, allows your organization to work anywhere, anytime, on the device of their choice. What do you think you can get a few extra minutes of productivity each day? Cooperation, integration and efficiency of your team can close the additional transaction?

Safety and reliability

Common interest that appears around cloud computing is security. Often someone is afraid that they do not know. The reality behind cloud computing is that your network is placed in the State of the art data centers SAS 70 compliant. These data centers have security measures in place, medium-sized businesses cannot afford to. Dual power system, cooling systems, full observation, biometric limited access, multiple gigabytes of Internet connection and modern equipment IT Manager can only dream of. They are in a position to guarantee the 99.999% uptime and full back-ups of your network.

Anything by moving your entire network in a cloud, crashed computer or laptop lost doesn't mean. Just login with a different device and keep running ... all your data will be there waiting for you to finish all your work.

What is the best solution

If you want to save your company money and maximize efficiencies, overall approach cloud is the way to go. However, using 10 different cloud solutions to deliver the whole network still needs quite a bit and brings issues of integration.

Select the fully integrated solution to deliver everything you need in one place. LevelCloud delivers all of your network, securely, reliably and efficiently. All you company applications, data, and e-mail is available through WebTop from any device. LevelCloud is a turnkey, fully supported solution gives you everything you use today with the technology of tomorrow. Learn more by visiting levelcloud.net or by phone: 855-CLOUD.

All companies start small, medium and large dependent on technology for everyday activities. Waiting for the technology are that it should be accessible to 99.9% of the time and work. If it doesn't work, money is lost through not being productive through without access to key information or opportunities to reach customers.

Create and manage the technical infrastructure is expensive. Capital should be used to purchase servers. And contracts put in place to maintain and preserve the lights on the server.

The traditional approach to the server at the main office with telephone PBX was a solution that works well for many years.

Changes in employment, whether at home or when traveling and expanding new offices is challenging the traditional approach.

Besides saving on the server and update time is costly and expensive. In addition when the server is not available in Office through loss of power, hardware malfunction or virus infections, the entire company is without the ability to access information and communicate with customers.

Cloud computing and services offer a compelling alternative to traditional it solutions, installation and maintenance of server and/or IP PBX.

Your current settings, jobs, number of employees and quality connections will influence how much difference a cloud computer or service can help ensure sustainability for your technology and further enhance the capacity of staff to the right information at the right time, wherever they are.

Cloud computing for business applications

Written By anfaku01 on Thursday, June 9, 2011 | 10:55 AM

Advances in computer technology have increased levels of performance and productivity of businesses of all sizes. Speed data and Internet usage increasing, coupled with higher capacities and diverse range of electronic devices have resulted in a new era in networking. On the cutting edge technology of cloud computing.

What exactly is cloud computing? Through cloud computing service provider, a presentation platform that acts as a remote data center where users can access files and software safely through many devices anywhere there's Internet access. This solution for businesses and individuals looking for an easy way to store and access to MEDIA from one device to another and to share media with other people who have been granted access.

Cloud computing may seem complicated, but it can be used by anyone. There is no need for end user to understand the complexity of the infrastructure or the networking facility and how it works. Interesting and applicable examples to compare electricity where users will have access to the service, but don't understand necessarily, systems and components that provide the service.

This model, which is an environment where networks, applications and storage can be shared by many users with minimal effort. It requires minimal care provider interaction and makes available merge computer sources, which can be shared on demand. This ability to store data remotely offers many opportunities for small businesses. No need to keep the programs and files that are stored on the local people can now work with your phone, the touch pad or notebook anywhere, and share their files with anyone else in the company. Cloud computing may also be used as a remote backup, storage beyond copies of important documents in case recovery is needed to repair computers.

Because cloud computing providers deliver online business applications and infrastructure, these services can be used without investing a lot of resources. Especially useful for small and medium-sized businesses, these services are able to stop outsourcing, making it more accessible, saving time and money for their own purposes. Offering low cost, complete customization and support options, cloud computing has become a competitor in computer networks for small businesses.

This new platform is still a new technology, but will contribute to the creation of a new generation of products and services. Many large companies invest resources, infrastructure and exploring the potential of cloud computing as a platform. Goods and services that previously were not cost effective or viable options for many businesses will be available through the providers of these services. Share a resource pool allows users to create real-time connections, making draft cooperation and partnership more effective.

This revolutionary computer networking platform, made possible by advances in computer technology will eventually be commonplace in businesses of all sizes. Cloud computing has a strong and promising beginning and most definitely will have a lasting impact on the business environment, business practices and performance.
